Backpack

I like to have a backpack when I'm shopping. I made this one out of several different decorator fabrics that I liked together. For me its just the right size ... not too big, not too small. It has pockets inside for my cell phone, coupons and cosmetics.

Knitted Knitting Bag

This is a bag that I knitted in the round on circular needles size 13 with lots of different yarns.  I used all new wool (suitable for felting).  :-) The bag is lined for stability and has 4 pockets. I made the handles from a belt but similar handles can be purchased at a knitting shop.

A Poncho for My Friend Debbie

I made this by casting on 80 stitches onto size 17 needles.  The colors are alternated with a double strand of 2 different black yarns.  I knitted a row or 2 of each color using over 60 different yarns for lots of variety.  After knitting 2 rectangles 80 stitches wide by about 28-30 inches long, sew them together at the shoulder leaving a 12" neck hole.  By rotating the neck the poncho can be worn with a point in the front or straight across.  Last add 12" fringe pieces.

The Blanche Scarf

These scarves are sooo much fun to make.  Its hard to see in the picture but it has over 30 different yarns.  I used a size 17 circular needle, cast on 120 stitches, knit for a row or 2 then tie in the next yarn.  You'd be surprised at the colors you can put together!  This one is mostly neutrals with a few blacks and colors thrown in.  I've used wools, synthetics, metallics ...........a little bit of everything .....the more colors and textures the more interesting I think.  Just keep knitting until its a wide as you want then bind off.  I cut fringe pieces 12" using all different yarns and looped them on the ends and along one side.  I wore it to a Christmas party over a gray knit dress and used a big glittery pin to hold it in place.  Of course the color combos are endless!
